Two solar project awards Benavente presented to the Consolidated Commission on Utilities Thursday morning would add 192 MW of power capacity to the grid. By comparison, the new Ukudu plant will add 198 MW to the grid, while GPA’s generation capacity as of this July is around 351 MW, based on Benavente’s presentation.

The matter is ongoing before the Superior Court of Guam. GovGuam along with GWA are suing Core Tech, in the hopes of revoking certificates of title that show the company owns the plant land. Core Tech has countersued, seeking $220 million in back rent and damages for the property.
